Jumpin’ Railcars and Collectin' Cans
Upcoming Estate Sale
I usually check out any garage/estate sales in my area each week in the hopes of striking gold in my other main love: records and audio equipment. I was pleasantly surprised to see this listing for next Wednesday here in Wichita. They're selling off the sticks, and I spot some Undercrowns, some Olivas and maybe some My Father La Antiguedads? I'm also interested in the cabinet. I know those things are infamous for leaking, but I still want to check it out. I'll report back on Wednesday morning and tell you guys how I did. Also, I guess RIP to a BOTL/SOTL...

Definitely looks like something that requires further, up close investigation. Can't imagine there will be many bidding on it.
No cigar until you get a par - birdie if it's a scramble !

I think you would be ok with it with 2 options. 1 electronic humification. Spend the money to get it to help hold humidity and you should be fine. Option 2 with enough Crystal's beads and cigars. When it is not full like the pictures it is harder to hold humidity. Filled with enough cigars and other things better it will do. Or any combination of the 2.
I have an small cabinet humidor and a tub of silica kitty litter and I rotate boveda packets throughout. Low to mid 60 each shelf all the time.
Ps I will post later

Well, as usually happens with these things, it was a bust. The cigars were generally priced at B&M prices and the selection wasn't great. All of the boxes pictured were empty. I was going to buy a few Paul Stulacs and a Diamond Crown, but they had a $50 minimum for credit card purchases, which is ridiculous. They wanted $800 for the cigar display case.
I might head back over there with some cash on Saturday when everything is 50% to see what's left. Anyway, sorry to get everyone's hopes up...

Still got a good chance at that display case. Large humidor are hard to sell because so few have a need for anything that big. I would have a number in mind and make an offer last day of the sale. If they don't sell it they have to move and store it probably in some shop that most cigar smokers won't frequent and while it is a display case other collector type may not want it because of smell and it held cigars. All things I would mention with a cash offer while I am here, sort of deal.

Good call, usually things go to 70% off on the last hours of the estate sale.

Went back and snagged these for $15. They were really all that was left that were up my alley. Happy, tho. Haven’t had a Stulac in awhile. And the wrapper on that asylum is gorgeous.

That the way Estate Sales are here too, if run by a professional estate people. They want a fortune for stuff and then towards the end they mark it down to next to nothing. If they would price it reasonably from the start they would be stuck with most of it. I am glad you ended up with a few things.
