It's that time again- organizing the cigars

At least once a year I remove all of my cigars from the wineador and organize and inspect them. It's been a while and it's kind of an unorganized mess. The fun part is I see exactly what is there and I always find somethings I had completely forgot about. It usually takes me about 2 hours. After Secret Santa Bob @allusred obliterated me, I've got some work to do. Thanks again Bob, you sir are a great Santa!

I am planning on doing it tomorrow, since I am great at procrastinating. Why do today when I can wait until tomorrow?

Anyone else do this on a semi-regular basis?

I have 7 tupperdors and 2, 74qt containers, and every one holds only certain categories of cigars, so they are organized as they arrive and get put in the proper container immediately, so no real need to do anything with them.

I'm a bit anal about having my cigars organized at all times.

I have to do this every so often. From times when I go and pack up a bunch of cigars for some out of town trip and then they just get stuffed back in when they don't get smoked. When I go to pack up my secret Santa I have to organize things a bit to make room..

When I do this I try to put same brands in same trays. Keep maw in together and put cigars in the trays I pulled them out of.

Sounds like you keep your cigars well organized. Mine, sometimes not so much.

Yeah, everything has its place, so its easy to find anything I want.

Especially with my inventory app allowing you to create as many humidors as you want, so each container is listed and with its specific contents, so I know exactly where everything is, with the exception of my 2, nc singles tupperdors. I have about 50 loose singles in each, and they are all listed in the proper tupperdor, but still difficult to find anything specific with that many singles without dumping them out onto my bed to find it. Thus, I usually just root around briefly and pick whatever I see that sounds good.

I don't have a very logical system except to me really. Most would likely wonder why they are separated the way they are,lol

But it works for me, so that's the important thing

The majority of mine are in branded cigar boxes, and several are mixed boxes of the brand. And I am terrible about organizing cigars that are bombed. I need to figure out a solution for that. I think I need blank bands for them.

Luckily my humidor the top 2 shelves are bombs and a couple other cigars (>5) that need to be moved as they were purchased not bombed. Other than those its mostly correct.

I wish I had a another shelf for my showy sticks. But I probably could not fit them all in there.

That's a nice problem to have. I must admit I am a sucker for showy sticks myself.

Yeah I have a few cool sticks that have not been made in several years a couple got rearranged when I was packing my secret Santa. I have some rare oliva cigars and they have now been put in a box of OR Meliano that was only partially full.

Nice! My collection has been Fuente heavy for several years. I have been fortunate to get some of the special releases stuff over the years. I rarely buy cigars anymore, unless it something I really want. Maybe 2-3 boxes a year.
