storing tins
I sometimes do not have room for cigar tins I order to fit in my Tupperware humidor . Some tins come with a Boveda pact in them , cigars are wrapped and the tin itself also . These I may leave out till have room to put it in . Question is how long is to long for these to not be put in a humidor ? I order some tins of 10 cigars in 5 tins (Deadwood Sweet Jane) or and by time I get to the last tin and put it in my humidor is 8 -10 weeks maybe . To me I have not noticed anything off of quality from the 1st tin to last tin . Also some cigar tins are ones I don't smoke as much . Now they are in the humidor but do I need to keep the lid cracked to be sure they stay nice or will they be ok with the tin closed ? If anyone is wondering I enjoy smokes that last 15-30 minutes mostly maybe 4x38 but also keep a collection of larger size when I do get in the mood to spend 45-60 minutes relaxing .

I would say 8 weeks is a long time but if boveda pack stays moist and you font notice any problem from first tin to the last then you are ok

I also have realized cigar storage is a bit like a gun safe . You better get one a lot bigger then you think you'll need cause you will be running out of space way quicker then you realize . I need to look into getting another Tupperware container same size as what I got or one big enough to hold 2 of the size I have now . Mine isn't Tupperware honestly but it is a very good container with a rubber seal and those clamping type locks on the lid .

I like those tins and have gotten them often in the past. Some shops have the tins out front, not in the humidor. I often find though, the Boveda packs inside are a bit dry when I open them. Who knows how long they were on display?
The tin itself, that is often cellophane wrapped, offers some protection from drying, as does, as I recall, the individual little cigars in these tins are cellophane wrapped. 8 weeks does seem a bit long, but that also depends upon the ambient conditions they are in.
In a pinch, a large zippered bag can offer some temporary protection from drying out, especially with a few Boveda packs tossed in.
I say, if they still smoke well and retain flavor for you, don’t fuss it.

Mark beat me to it a large zip lock won't solve the storage situation but it does but you more time.

Don't know why I didn't even think of a zip lock bag ? I use them for a few cigars that don't come in a tin but the small card board box and wooden box and to large to fit the entire boxes in the tupperware container and like you said with a few Boveda . I move a few cigars as I need them to my humidor . I keep it all in a large drawer with the humidor in front and the others in the back . Will be going to town tomorrow with the wife who has a doctors appointment and the grocery list on the fridge I went and wrote "larger tupperware tub" . Been putting it off long enough . Any thoughts on cracking the lids open or not ?

Another tupperware type container is about $6 - I'm just sayin.......
If they are still smoking good then nothing to worry about. If you notice them drying out then spend a couple bucks and expand your storage and then when you fill that one up we can talk again
No cigar until you get a par - birdie if it's a scramble !

Target has great airtight plastic containers, and I've had the same Bovedas in there for years and humidity is good. But, I'm sure any of the brands will work just fine.
For cracking, I'm in my tuppies enough to where I don't need to bother with the burping theory. That might only apply to aging tuppies.

Chain gang I am like you I am in my humidor everyday so not worried about it needing burped but was more wondering about the cigar tins . The main one I smoke is mostly my everyday pick so no concern and it also comes with a Boveda . But have a few others that are in tins I only smoke from time to time . Had read somewhere about leaving tin lids cracked to me sure they don't go bad if the tin has a good seal . I have some extra Boveda pacts from the empty tins and thinking of putting one of them in the tins that don't .
