I like those tins and have gotten them often in the past. Some shops have the tins out front, not in the humidor. I often find though, the Boveda packs inside are a bit dry when I open them. Who knows how long they were on display?
The tin itself, that is often cellophane wrapped, offers some protection from drying, as does, as I recall, the individual little cigars in these tins are cellophane wrapped. 8 weeks does seem a bit long, but that also depends upon the ambient conditions they are in.
In a pinch, a large zippered bag can offer some temporary protection from drying out, especially with a few Boveda packs tossed in.
I say, if they still smoke well and retain flavor for you, don’t fuss it.
