Google docs... But I gave up on it as I lost interest. There are good smokes and bad ones. At the end of the day, I'm still smoking something and I have inventory.

Still a fat kid
I use a spread sheet with marca, vitola, date purchased/box date, and quantity. However, I am not smart enough to label my individual cigars when they come in, so I am having trouble knowing which individual stick came in when.
I think I am going to only continue with boxes moving forward, or maybe stop altogether.

Will work for tobacco.
I have two small coolidors I use to "rest" cigars. Mostly I just buy cigars once a year, right after the Holidays when everyone is broke and money is tight, and I can get decent prices on the bid sites.
I put the years purchases in one of the small coolidors, and there they sit, untouched for two years. The next year's cigars go in the second coolidor. On the following year, the first coolidor is emptied of it's two-year-rested cigars, and is filled with this year's purchases. These two small coolidors rotate ad nauseam.
So, my humidors, and large coolidors are filled with cigars a minimum of two years old, and this is my smoking stock.
I keep no records at all, and can't imagine wanting to keep paperwork for a supposedly relaxing hobby. I do have a very good memory, and can remember most of my purchases, though.

Started with Excel, but I transferred the data to Google docs. I don't keep inventory. Instead, I just record when I get the cigars. I usually buy by the bundle or box now so it's not too difficult to keep track. For Opus and Anejos that I buy couple per year, I put dated sticker on them. They're basically blank stickers you buy at Office Depot or somewhere and I just ink the dates on them. Very easy to keep track that way!

Lonely Wandering Bum
As the sticks come in I date each on the cello. Enter them on google doc. Place them in the freezer for 2 days, then into the humi by date received (just happen to have 6 of them). I burn something out of the oldest (enjoying 2012's now) first and remove it from the inventory. EZ-PZ

Monster Bum
I use an excel file where I keep track of sticks by humidor. I don't track age of them though.

I used to be very organized and systematic in how I kept track of my inventory but then it became a pain in the a@@. Now, I just make sure to tag each cigar with a date (either by writing the date on the cello) or putting a little sticker with the date on the label (that can easily be removed). The only thing I definitely like to know when I smoke a cigar is the age. Other than that, I try to make it as easy of a process as possible.

For those who use cigar geeks, is it good? I read some of the comments on it and I down want to just waste $4 if it is glitchy.
I just downloaded the cigar boss app and it has a virtual humidor. I am going to see how well I keep up with this one first.
