    Smoking Inside The House

So I have basically been a life-long renter. With the purchase of my first house rapidly approaching I have been wondering about smoking inside on occasion. Living in Florida I don't really have to deal with the winter but sitting outside to smoke in the middle of the summer with the 1000% humidity is not that enjoyable. I'm outside right now enjoying one and am sweating just sitting here typing lol.

So I thought about using my future office also as an occasional smoking lounge for myself and guests. The room has sliders that open into the lanai (screened-in porch to you non-floridians) so I could have the door partially open to allow some ventilation.

Who else smokes in their house and how often? What do you do to get rid of the inevitable smell?

Some people install inline fans, filters and ventilation expressly for their smoking room.

I smoke in my empty two car garage. If I open the garage and let it vent out for half an hour after I smoke, the smell mostly goes away. It's my garage, so I'm not overly concerned about lingering scents in it.

I want to build a brew kitchen with storage when we buy our own house. Texas is also pretty nasty in the summer, and if my brew room is separated from the house I can do as I please. SWMBO has very bad asthma so there is no smoking in the house. Even the smell of smoke on me bothers her so I brush my teeth, wash my face and hands/shower, and change after smoking.

I don't and wouldn't smoke in my house or office.
When I toss the butt or dump out the dottle I want to be DONE with the tobacco, not have a foul, musty odor linger for days.
I know what you mean though, it's no fun smoking in searing heat or freezing cold.

I live in that same humidity. We have a sunroom/office, that can be closed off to the rest of the house. I use it when smoking conditions are poor. I use various smoker's candles, exhaust fan, and Ozium....10 minutes later, just a faint hint of a good cigar remains, which has not been offensive to anyone. My wife has never smoked anything, so she is our "coal mine canary", and I will abide by her wishes, should it ever bother her. Thus far it hasn't, and she will even occasionally join me when I go smoke and chat at my local B&M.

I smoke in my kitchen. I turn on the oven exhaust fan and when warm enough, open a window/door. I can smell the cigar odor for a while, but it seems to be mostly gone by the next day. I'd rather smoke outside but much of the year is just too cold here. At first I thought it might pose a problem smoking inside, but it's not a big deal and doesn't bother my non-smoking wife so it's all good.

It is all weather dependent and how badly I want a cigar. I sometimes smoke in my mancave/music room. I generally open a window and set a box fan up and suck out the smoke. My back patio is shaded by 4:30-5pm so I sit out there when it is tolerable. If it's raining I sit on the screened porch. Sometimes I close the BR door, open the window and back door and if there is any breeze it sucks out the smoke. However I decide to do it my wife never complains. I only smoke about 3 cigars a week and have never detected a lingering cigar smell and my kids and grandkids have never mentioned the house smelling like cigars.

Never smoked indoors aside from at a Lounge or B&M, but if we're I'd invest in Rabbit Air. Excellent air cleaning.

I smoke in my basement. I have deep window wells. I put a fan in the window sucking out and a fan behind me blowing twards the window. Seems to work fairly well.
