One of my granddaughters is crazy about turtles. She found a little one not much bigger than yours and named it Porkchop. Her mom only lets her keep them for a couple of days and then she has to let them go.
One day I came home from work and my ex wife showed me she found a turtle shell outside. She was fascinated by turtles as she had grown up in Phoenix. I told her turtles leave their shells to mate and she must put it back where she found it. She bought it hook, line and sinker.. After 50 years it still makes me laugh.

I’m stealing the name Porkchop, that is fantastic.
Your poor wife, she probably repeated that “fact” to multiple people with absolute conviction

Porkchop is a great baby turtle name! And I am happy you think so too.
She is my ex wife. She decided she got married too young and wanted a divorce only to remarry less than a year later. That was almost 50 years ago. She was divorced from her 4th husband, lost a son to suicide about 3 years ago and is a wreck. She has been calling me this past year, which is how I know all of that. Looking back her divorcing me was one of the best things to happen in my life. I was drunk and picked the sickest puppy in the litter.
My current wife is one of the biggest blessing of my life. A few months from our 46th anniversary.
