I promise this is not a beg for a cigar, but what do candela wrappers taste like? I’m really just curious. I think there’s a 5% chance I’d like one.

For me tonight, my first La Gran Llave. This vitola is absurdly large. Lots of black licorice and pepper, some cinnamon and...cola, I think? Really unique. I’m a sucker for anything San Andres. And the Ecuadorian Habano binder is also a fave. I really dig this.

A good Candella is kinda grassy. A bad Candella like shit. Ones worth trying are Camacho, Illusione, Espinosa Wasabi. I have but have not smoked the Romacraft yet. The Pickle Juice was supposed to be good but I did not try it. Fuente makes a double claro that is a Candella that is very mild. I could go either way on that one. I enjoy trying everything. The ogre has a Candella wrapped barberpole but does not have the classic flavor profile.

Thursday Afternoon. My Father Le Bijou 1922 Toro Grande...6x52. Nice warm lil treat from Pepin smoked on a rainy wet afternoon.
