BTW, a friend of mine looked up the etymology of the game's name. Turns out (according to the almighty internet), it's an old Alsatian game which used to be called Juckerspiel (Jack game), which morphed into its current name.

That has me wondering if the four Alsatians seated at a table whilst playing cards might not have been the inspiration that painting by Renie Brant of the Dogs of varied breeds playing poker at a Cigar lounge that graces many a wall to this day.

Everyone around here knows how to play. There are tournaments and some weekly Euchre nights at some of the Legions / clubs. You have to find out who's playing stick the dealer and who isn't and the occasional ace no face but everyone knows how to play. You guys play 3 handed (cut throat) or 2 handed as well ?
