Jumped back across the Puddle tonight. My daughters took good care of things, animals and plants seem to be thriving.

    First cigar over a week,

2009 Fonseca 1907 Natural Churchill with Diet Pepsi on a beautiful night. After a break this stick tastes good but reality will set in tomorrow.

Caldwell - The King is Dead. Seemed appropriate for tonight's hoop game. Just don't think the Cavs have enough in the tank but they are hanging tough into the 3rd.
No cigar until you get a par - birdie if it's a scramble !

Starting: La Perla Habana Wide...5.5x62.This torpedo shape really makes the cigar look even larger than it's 62 rg girth, well it'll be test of hand wrist and forearm strength. Cut lit and there's a lot of smoke, easy draw, slightly wavy burn line but only a bit uneven across the expanse of tobacco.

Didn't have much sleep yesterday and went to sleep past 1am but I popped up at 6am today so some sleep adjustment is in the cards.

2008 Paisano Double Corona (6-1/2" x 48) (EMS, made in DR) with coffee (light) on a beautiful morning. I previously wrote about these...

Mild to medium, flavors quite smooth. Dominican dry creaminess with some leather, dashed with earth, underneath and just the right amount of salt on top. Snork is light but with a hint of spice (peppered nutmeg). Salt builds in intensity in the second half of the smoke and it is proving to be long burning.

The flavors work together very well and it's far more complex than it ever indicated it could be in the past (last tried @2010). A very nice morning smoke that reminds me of a lighter bodied Jose Piedras (Cuban) but not sharp or rough but with more complexity. Just the first cigar but so improved that I noted it and more when I smoke others. The Paisano doesn't look the part but it's a nice Cubanesque dash of flavor from a most unexpected source.

Apparently the trick was 8 years of aging!
This is the 5th that I've smoked since and no two have been the same; the first (above) the best, with high aspirations and the worst a modest yard gar. Salt was near perfect in the first and not duplicated in any since and that held the flavors together, otherwise the Olor falls between creaminess and cloying but neither quite right. Still, more than they were when purchased.

    Get a move on Alan.
Sorry that's wrong, get to drinking is what I meant.
The faster you can empty the few barrels in the photo, the sooner you'll have storage room for your cigars
can't beat Bourbon barrels, anyone would beat then should be strung up.
Smoke and drink as much as you can (can't ever drink enough) just do your best before July fourth to empty the barrels.
Just in case some remain unemptied after the fourth of July, flat rate them to me and I'll fix the problem.
