All of this talk lately had me craving a moose! Spending a well deserved day off at the campground with my Dad.
Since I was at a couple of cemeteries earlier today, a big shout out to the veterans and thank you to my father who served proudly in WW2 in the Pacific on the carrier USS Essex.....

Pinar Del Rio Oscuro Liga Cubana #2.....this has been marinating for at least 9 months and is pretty good.....
You could be correct, but I just remembered AJ doing the Triple A. The only Rocky Patel I've ever tried has been the Java, which was done with Drew Estate. Funny you should mention Pinar Del Rio as that's what I'm smoking now. I always see these as different from PDR. This Oscuro Liga #2 is delicious....

The prelight was a very natural sweet tobacco. I brought the wrong lighter outside and didn't get a good light. So, I puffed like a train and got off to a bad start. When I calmed down and started sipping, it was pretty good. For less than six bucks at a B&M, I'll give one another try, and hopefully treat it better. Spice halfway through on the retro was kicking. Last half was dusty with a coy sweetness.
Been pushing through these 2009 Fonseca 1907 Toro Naturals. These are the best of the 1907 (after the first box that made me buy all the rest). Just a burn it up cigar, nothing notable about it. Warm, muggy evening, feels like Summer, but what happened to Spring? Water, no ice with Willie & Lobo on Youtube.
Compliments of @Hardheaded I smoked a new one last night and thought no better time to compare the two. A little more smoke production and a lot smoother than the new bands for sure.

Hello Pete,
Have been wondering the same thing, where did Spring go and how did I miss it.
After a couple or three pretty bad days got a chance to enjoy a cigar I'd been eager to smoke, a Viaje Oro Fuerza, courtesy of Merovius.
Despite the mugginess of the afternoon this one was really enjoyed. Along with some iced Coke.
Best wishes for an enjoyable Memorial day weekend.
Bob.
Started this morning with an unbanded from @AndyCAYP that was pretty good but I have no idea what it was

Hi Bob,
Tis Summer all around now, everything in bloom. Nature is amazing.
2009 Royal Jamaican, 7" x 54, with coffee with half and half.
Not sure of this vitola's name and couldn't find being sold anywhere. It would seem that Royal Jamaican went the way of the dodo bird without me knowing. These are from the Hurricane Specials that JR was selling (50 good sticks, no filler, cheap 50-ct humidor for $99).
Cigar was loaded with plume and is smoking to the look, an exceptional stick. Never thought that I'd say that about Royal Jamaican made in the DR. Medium but loaded with flavors, lovely herbal fragrance and top notes and a malty sweetness effortlessly backed by a subtle leather. My best comp would be Miami made La Gloria de Cubana (one of my favorites), but this is better in burn and no construction issues at all. It's likely that this cigar was made in the same plant as the DR incarnation of La Gloria.
Wish I had a 1,000 of these and I like it better than the original Royal Jamaican (from Jamaica).
Best to you and your family for the holiday weekend, thanks.
Pete
Have a great weekend ad holiday everyone.

I've got ribs on the smoker, the whole family is gone, I've got the house to myself. With seven kids, a VERY rare occurrence this is. :yes!: :woohoo: :whoo:
I'm going to say it now; this is just the first for today.

Hi Pete, Wow that's a great review, of what must be an excellent smoke.
While wishing, put me down for thousand of them too.
I did like the original Royal Jamaican, from Jamaica a lot.
Thanks for your thoughtful wishes and naturally I'm wishing the same for you and yours this weekend.
Bob.
Round one with my dad today. My first of these and a very solid cigar. I'd smoke it again.
