I think so. All the others were really good. This one got hot up to the band pretty fast. Probably a bad roll.

My Father #3 Crema...6x49. Smoked on front porch on a nice, for a change, day burn time two and a half hours, good time aided by some excellent hot coffee.

Went dumpster diving in the coolidor and came up with this Galliano. Thought it would be an air straw, but it's held up well after 20 years. I can't believe it....

What better way to start this Warped Wednesday [emoji41]
Thanks David :)
Smoking the last two Pioneer Valley Especiales Toro (natural). I hope I have more of these stashed somewhere. The Churchill is a little better but either is a far better smoke, in all regards, than the price point that they live at.
I purchased the La Escepcion's when I was still doing most of my buying from JR. In that period I purchased 16 of their 2008 'Hurricane Deals', 50 good to excellent smokes as well as a cheap but usable 50-ct humidor for $100. There were 5x10-pk in each unit and I found 2 pks (20 sticks) recently. Instead of buying 16 of these units I should have bought 200, not a stinker in the lot, (Royal Jamaican Churchill perhaps my least favorite in the selection).
The La Escepcion Balthazar maduro remain my favorite of the JR private labels, really nice smokes. Somewhere along the way I mentioned the Montague label, a closeout, $40/25, and they were superb; natural even better than maduro. Of course I also bought Jr's Flor de Balony (I kid you not) that were as bad as their description was good. I think Lew Rothman had a big laugh at the expense of the customers who bought these doggies.

Thanks Bob,
Over six weeks now, not easier in the least, but more familiar. I went to Pennsylvania with his (28yo) widow, Ashley, to work on probating his small estate. It's like trying to function with no arms. Something gone to never have again, it is the wound that can never heal.
Ashley is, legally, no longer my daughter-in-law but long ago she had become my daughter. My genetic daughter, Elisabeth (5'4") has called Ashley her little sister for years (even though she's > 6'1"). Kaiden, Adam's daughter doesn't know that her dad is dead and we will tell her when it is appropriate (she's 4-1/2). We adopted Adam's cat, Domino, and he's adjusted well and is a good kitty who has decided that he owns me.
I appreciate all the kind words, thoughts and prayers from my BOTL here on CigarBum. I tell my family of your collective kindness.
Regards,
Pete

Dug into my stash and pulled a Nica Libre sent from @BlueDevil07 . This is very nice, and I know I have been sent a Nica Libre before and liked it, but I'm not certain if it's the same one. Nice and smooth for those dark flavors. I'm wondering if I'm developing a palette or what as I get mild notes of dark chocolate and coffee. Can't say I've picked out flavors in a cigar and have been a bit baffled by the descriptions. Maybe I'm evolving here...

Great smoke! Thanks Ferrell!
Is this the same smoke with a new band?
Check Out Nica Libre Cigars at Cigars International
Oh, and, paired with my red plum ale seems fitting. I'll need to brew some more darker styles as I'm about out, though rye whiskey does well too...
*EDIT*
The band is the same and not like the one shown at CI. Hoping it's the same as I'm really digging this one. Two cheaper sticks have really made an impression on me. This one and the Alec Bradley American Classic. They come across being of higher quality than the price suggests.

This Morning. Murcielago Churchill...7x48. Down to the last few of these Don Pepin Garcia smokes.First one smoked in about a month and, there's a big change in the way it smokes, more complexity, flavours. Surprised since these already have several years age on them, then this change-up when all I'm expecting is a decline in flavours or more likely a consistently straightforward smoke. Extremely smooth retrohale. Seems this is one non Cuban that not only ages well, but somehow in a short amount of additional time is smoking so much better. Wish I had a dozen or so boxes of these rather than the sparse handful on hand.
@jhedrick83 , it's still there, just not in such large doses. We are actually a little worried about our son right now. He went to the ER last night, and we found out he has pediatric onset of type 1 diabetes at 9!!!
Hey, what day is it?
