What did you smoke today (NC) II

This is the second one out of the box of 10 that I’ve smoked. I smoked the first one the day the box arrived because I’d never had a Te Amo and I was curious about a Mexican Puro. It was ok, definitely had potential though. This one has about a month’s rest on it and while that’s not much time at all, it’s a much more dialed in smoke. Maybe it’s just this particular cigar in the box was rolled better but the flavor is more refined, the draw is much better (the first was too free) and the overall construction is much better. I’m excited to see how these mature with age. A nice little “not so hidden” gem in the budget stick market.

Being that I live part-time in Ensenada, Mexico myself, I get plenty of Te Amo cigars. I’m always impressed at the value.

Lately I have been getting their international blends. I like them all.

I always throw a few of the Cuban blends in the flight bag just because they make me feel “a little dirty” when I destroy them Stateside.

Glad you’re enjoying them, too.

Back in the day Te Amo used to be a big deal - have smoked a few of those myself but not in a long time. Glad to hear they are still a solid smoke !


@SoCal gunner posted up a cigar with a rabbit on the band. How about one that was gifted to me by a guy who reproduces like a rabbit ?

There’s a box of Jacob’s Ladder with a couple years of age on it at my favorite B&M. It’s hard to say any cigar is the best cigar I’ve ever smoked, but I also can’t say this one isn’t it. Maybe. So much flavor it’s like I’m at Willy Wonka’s Factory. Sweet mint, dark chocolate goodness.

First lancero vitola of the Leaf series, for me. If I'm remembering correctly - these seem to be fuller/bolder than the toro and the maduro is heavier. Can't recall too many vitola differences between sticks, but I believe it is showcased between the vitolas in this line, at least for the Maduro.

Tuesday Evening smoke.
My Father The Judge Grand Robusto Box Pressed Sumatra Wrapped 5x60.
This BIG cigar sent to Me by My Secret Santa Old Smokey, big thanks Steve. I've smoked some of the Garcia's The Judge, but tho at 6x52 they're big cigars, this at 5x60 makes them seem kinda slim, that BP looks like they're two inches wide! Smoking two at once, one stacked atop the other would need Bulldog jaws for sure. These cigars do taste and smoke a bit unlike any other of the Pepin Garcias, the initial kick is something, maybe due to the wrapper and as stated the double binder, I do like Sumatra and the pepper~spice that lets one know it's a My Father cigar. Burntime: One Hour and Eleven Minutes, burnt almost to the nub. Sorry I don't have a solo shot of this one, but expect it is easy to spot in this pix of some of fine smoke Steve sent Me.

True. but to be fair, I have only had the Purple in Robusto whereas I had the Red in Lancero, which is my favorite size. So it could be that. I guess I will just have to get a box of the Purples in Lancero and see

I think you will like the Lancero a lot better. I have tried both it and Corona Gorda and I have to force myself not to grab one every week. At least I have a box sleeping atm. All this talk, I need to have one soon, lol!

Man, at a buck that is a wild value. I’d like to say I’ve started bidding but between what I had, what you, TJ, and Tony bombed me and the 100 sticks that came last week, my humi is bursting at the seams. I’m gonna have to start mowing through sticks at an @allusred or @cheaphumidors level to clear some space.
