What did you smoke today (NC) II

When I first got into cigars, I was rummaging around the closeout bin at a local B&M and the owner came in and politely told me that the cigars that were in there didn’t sell for a reason, and there were plenty of great “budget” cigars if I didn’t want to spend much. He then put a New World in my hand and said it was the best deal he had in his store. He was not wrong and I left with sage advice that day. Still love these.

I believe this came from Ryan @Tombstone from a long ago MAW. Haven't had one in quite sometime actually it's better than I remembered!

It's a good smoke. Not sure what tobacco it's using, but it tastes like a colorado, very peppery and with a long lasting metallic/irony finish. Sort of like a rare stake. Cayenne and nutmeg in the retro-hale.

After reading a little about this stick I guess it's suppose to be an habano rosado (is that the same thing as Colorado? Dunno) and it's suppose to have coffee and caramel, but I didn't get ether of those.

I had another one. Finally smoked this Gurkha Regent from a budget cigar bomb from @droy1958 .

We all know the reputation, but I gotta say, I’m pretty blown away. This is a great cigar. Plumes of smoke. Smoking beautifully. Pepper and mint. I won’t hate on this brand as much as I used to.

No, actually it was really oily! Really, a damn fine cigar. This has lots of time on it. I’ve had it for more than a year and I’m sure Droy let it rest at least a year, too.

Their packaging kills me. Looks like a transformer!

Had my first SD for my Thur smoke. Seen these posted by Kayla a good bit as well as others and thought I would give them a try. Plus I had not had a Lancero in a while.

This is rott'ish, but very impressed with this cigar. Great flavors nice solid medium body, as good as it was this new with some rest I would bet these are scrumptious.

Picked this up in a little shop in Columbus, OH of the same name.
The proprietor was a young gentleman from Puerto Rico. He had several options of cigars he hand-rolled himself with Puerto Rican tobacco. He was very passionate about the trade.

This is actually pretty good, and dare I say, tastes a bit Cubanesque. I would have liked just a little tighter draw, but other than that, the quality was good.

I don’t know why Puerto Rico doesn’t get more attention for tobacco. It is very close to the DR, and at the same tropical Caribbean latitude as the other known tobacco regions.
