Plus have the habit of drinking coffee throughout the day.
When smoking if it's not coffee, might be Beer,Whiskey, very rarely water.
Don't always drink coffee when smoking.
The caffeine addiction's a lot stronger than the smoking.
Would be a lot harder to let go of.
You just might find that coffee would get in the way of your awareness of changing flavours in a cigar.
I've been drinking coffee for about 25 years now, but only in the last couple found I much prefer a strong dark roast. I only drink coffee in the mornings after I've had a cup of water, and don't generally drink any later.
I'd say I usually smoke a cigar by itself or with water (I drink lots of water after cutting sodas and tea from my daily routine) but also smoke with beer or whiskey too.
I figured that since I feel cigars go quite well with stouts it ought to go well with coffee too.
I can't say I've noticed much change in smokes, except for a few I noticed seemed a bit harsh at first but mellowed. I don't think my pallet is typical as I just don't get most of the flavors I see described.

Like you I can't put a name to most of the flavours, do pick up on some of the changes, just can't name them.

My problem with smoking a cigar while in the yard mowing etc. is that I end up chomping the hell out of a cigar. It ends up looking like a piece of meat that's been ran through the tenderizer for a chicken fried steak. You did well....

Mine often do too, as well as nice and moist with all of my slober. I try to be more mindful and hang on to it with my fingers instead.

I'll never slobber on a cigar as I'm uppity and only drool on a cigar, which is what I'm doing right now as I stir this homemade spaghetti gravy I made with my homegrown tomatoes, onions, bell peppers and venison. For a Chinaman, I might make it in Italy.....
