Wise choice Alan, at that extreme temperature you'd be risking Heatstoke.

Sunday afternoon. San Cristobal Del Sol...4.5x50. First one of these Don Pepin Garcia gems in a week.Forcing myself to only fire one up when I can not resist doing so.Only have few left, have to space them, cause when, they'll be gone for good.Potent, down to that "DelSol" not a matter of strenght so much as rich.
Burn time: One Hour and Eleven Minutes.

Edit: Recently said that I think low temps have a negative to some degree effect how well a cigar snokes. This one was burnt on fron porch, temp droppedfron43 F.to 36F. during the time smoked, but maybe because there was no wind,it burned great.

My Sunday evening, after dinner treat consisted of:
Diesel Unlimited D.5, fresh ground Starbucks House Blend, '77 Dead.
I really like this stick, think I will give the UHC line a try next time.

With a high of only 26 degrees, chickened out on outdoor smoking today. Supposed to hit 45 tomorrow and even higher days following, so will be back at it soon with maybe even a pre-work smoke tomorrow, we'll see. And more importantly, hope you all are faring well who are in those parts hit hard by this recent record storm.
Having a Caldwell Yellow Cake next to a roaring fire, the rare indoor winter cigar :)
I've been seeing a few of these posted lately so I figured I'd better investigate

And I don't blame you, if it wasn't for my propane heaters I would say screw winter and hibernate my habit until spring. So far I've only had to throw out 2 cigars because it got too cold to enjoy them and 2 because they performed incredibly crappy in the cold.
My favorite so far has been the Icon, I need to get more of those to be completely sure though :stogie:.

Most kind of you guys for making me a Bum of the Month and now I know the award isn't based on good looks! :)
Warmed up to 28 degrees so I'm out here with some room-temp water (soon to be cold) and an EP Carillo 2nd (Toro size).

Well gentlemen, I thought it was an excellent smoke. A little milder than the maduro Undercrown and it fit my taste nicely. I'm definitely going to be picking up some more. Light it up Brian and report back.
Although I see my bud @Regiampiero did some investigation of his own. What say you G ?
Did you say last one and you need some more ???

Out of synch posting, burn't this one before sun-up today, didn't have pix then. Cabaiguan Guapos RX Robusto Extra...5.2x50.
Just as the one smoked a few days ago this was a long slow burning cigar, tho a good deal less potent than the other.
Seldom notice variations like this.
Been a long while since I've smoked Cabaiquans, but don't recall much dif between cigars back then, Pepinmade smokes always quiite consistant.
My guess is the two smoked in the last couple of days were from different runs or, more likely stored under varied conditions before I got my paws on them.
Burn time: One Hour and Fifty Minutes.

Well...I've had the toro, the corona, the pig and now the belicoso, and I have to say I like this line. Maybe not as much as I like the shades, but I think this is a worthy stick for when you're in the mood for something woody and a bit spicy. I paired it with an Elijah Craig small batch and I think the buttery-sweet drink really enhanced my enjoyment of the pepper.
Morning Bob,
I smoked a few 5ers of these (Toros) some years back and they were excellent. I've tried several Pepins since but none were as satisfying as these Vegas Cubanos. At the time they didn't have the cache of other Pepin marques (do they now?) and (imho) the My Father Vegas Cubanos were good but not as consistent as these.
Nearly 40 degrees outside - Woohoo! I have a little sun, some decent coffee light and a 5-Vegas Alpha (torpedo).

I'm good buddy, I have some resting in the humi already!
Tonight:
Camacho ABA Robusto w/ some Colombian coffee & '81 Dead.
Really liked these as well as all the other Camachos I have tried so far, though the Triple Maduro Corojo & this one stand out the most.

Not exactly a tat, but I'm counting it. By the way, I wouldn't be able to tell if this thing wasn't Cuban in a blind taste. Maybe it's the aging (look at that cello), but there's so much of that particular taste. Very interesting.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...530fad35eb.jpg

Late late night cigar. Cabaiguan Robusto Extra...5.2x 50. Just a bit hard to draw on at first...after a relight and a few puffs producing very little smoke, smoke production went well up. Burn line while never close to super sharp was not too bad, last two thirds or so very nice in every way, retrohale etc.
Burn time. An Hour Sixteen Minutes.
https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/1...922/lnlSI8.jpg
And, a Good Morning to you Pete.
Almost sixteen hours late, but it is Morning again.
Smoked some of the Vegas Cubanas toros back then.
Vegas Cubanas were the first Pepin made cigars I smoked and my favourite as well.
Was really sorry when production was stopped. Had I been paying attention would have tried to grab at least a few boxes.
Very happy to learn they'd be coming back. Picked up two boxes as quickly as I could, now abot a fifth of the way through my fourth box.
Maybe they were dropped from production once Garcia started making for so many others.
Most likely I'm wrong, as usual;, but I always figured that Pepin Garcia tried for the taste of a Cuban cigar with the Earlier Vegas Cubanas. They had that Cubanesque taste for me, whereas his other lines tended to be "heavier" stronger? and tending towards the larger ring gauges that had taken over, here in the USA, during the boom years.
Don't trust my 'taste memory' enuff to say the newest iteration of the V. C. matches the earlier but it suits me.
If I had to pick one non Cuban cigar as the only one I could have, day in day out. This Vegas Cubanas would get the nod.
Wouldn't be able to smoke as many if they were double the price, but would still be smoking them.
Cheers,
