Rosada Gran Reserva. Can’t remember who sent this—if it looks familiar, thank you! Slowly becoming more of a Fuente fan as my palate starts to warm up to medium-body smokes. This is one of my faves so far. I especially like the soft box-press toro. Great vitola.

I was told long ago to overlook the non Cuban Cohibas. I went ahead and bought the small cigar sized Black Dots thinking a Maduro version might be ok. Not really, and not worth the slight upcharge over many other good ones. So I never bothered again until I got one in a sampler (10/$30 or so). This Red Dot is blah for the first 2/3 and terrible after that. How are they charging $13.60/ea??? I wouldn’t spend $3 knowing a Cargo is far superior at that price.

Picked up this La Aurora pack on a whim about a month ago. Maybe I'd hit a noob with it, maybe I'd keep as a impromptu gift, or just hold on to it.

Well, with the 'Rona thing happening, me constantly moving it around and a bit of boredom, I decided to go through the line up myself. A fun tasting excersize, if anything.
So, despite the picture order, I'm going to go light to dark wrapper. At least according to my eyes.
Second up, La Aurora Preferido Robusto Corojo (Gold).

Remember how shocked I was at the sweetness of the Connecticut? Well, it's got to be the fillers of this line of cigars. This Corojo has that same underlying sweetness, but with a little spice and nuttiness. The last third truley reminds me of a cuban cigar.
Again, excellent construction and burn up to the the last third when the corojo wrapped cracked a bit.
Been smoking a pipe mostly during the quarantine, along with some cheaper cigars.
Had a reason to pull out a good one this evening and celebrate a bit.
Today, after a quick court hearing, our family of 3 became a family of 4.
The adoption was approved and we now are parents to a beautiful 9 year old girl.
We're happy, and she's happy.
So I celebrate tonight with this Shark.
