We all know the reputation, but I gotta say, I’m pretty blown away. This is a great cigar. Plumes of smoke. Smoking beautifully. Pepper and mint. I won’t hate on this brand as much as I used to.

Did a rush job on my overgrown lawn as a storm was close. While cooling down and rehydrating it’s smoking time. Generally lanceros and Churchill’s are for lawn watering day. Rain counts, right?
I must say these JR wannabe CAO Maduros are pretty good at something like $37/bundle of 20. Better than the Flor de Flor I often get for about the same price, though I haven’t tried their Maduro version.

Nah. You turned me on to something new here. But I'm going to grab a few now that I know of them.
Who knows how long I'm going to sit on them once i get them.

What did you smoke today (NC) II
DBL Maduro. Got this in a blind sampler. I’ve never had one. It lacks sweetness and tastes like you’re eating cocoa right out of the box. Bleh. First cigar I’ve pitched in a long time.

Sounds like something I'd probably like.
I'd pair it with some lightly sweetened, steamed milk or maybe espresso if the milk didn't cut it.
Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

There’s definitely a market out there for cigars like this. Reminded me of La Palina Black and a Camacho Triple Maduro—other cigars that I pitched. Bitter chocolate is not my thing.
