Evening Wednesday. Regius Red Label...5.75 x60`54. Have refrained from smoking this cigar that I received from Brian, my Secret Santa, until I had something that to celebrate by setting this oversized Perfecto afire. Aware of the high marks given to the Regius cigars on Cigarbum wanted to be sure I could fully concentrate on it with little worry about being interrupted. Today the time had come to cut, light and smoke this cigar that reminds of the popularity Perfectos enjoyed way back when. How far back? Think of the time when the El Producto Bouquet was a 'class' smoke at most Tobacconists. Perfectos of the 1940's 1950's would have been one of the top choices for weekend cigars. This Red Label's girth does make me doubt the wisdom of smoking a dirigible sized bundle of tobacco leaves. Today's big ring gauge cigars are so common it's the shape that catches the eye. This is one fine cigar, one I'm glad I did get to enjoy after so long a wait.
Reason for celebrating? heck yeah, holding off on lighting it up for so long's all the reason needed. Lot of quality tobacco in this well constructed Habano wrapped beauty, so yup t'would make a fine weekend cigar any, or every, day of the week.
Burn time: One Hour and Thirty Eight Minutes.
