On the coolest morning we've had since March or April, an incredible 60 degrees or so. Absolutely glorious.

I know they're just things, but losing a Patek would make me cry. I'd almost rather lose my humidor, and that's saying something.
    Morning Tim,

The Patek had a beveled back that was ideal for me because I have a big wrist and I could flex without it being annoying. It was pretty sporty, with a replacement leather band that gave way and it was gone. C'est la vie.

Occasionally, people would sell stuff to me in my store. There weren't many Pawn shops then (at least in my area), so I guess I was something of a surrogate. I bought mostly pens, and a few lighters and watches. Often, neither the seller or I knew the value so I made offers that I felt that I could recoup. My biggest hit was a Caran d'Ache (pen) that i bought for $30 and sold for several hundred.

The only other watch of note was an IWC that a con couple stole it. He was loud, she was (extremely) beautiful, she flirted and he caused a commotion and then the watch was gone. Lesson learned.

I can't cry over things of material value that I've lost in my life or else I'd never stop crying .

    Regards,

    Pete

Pete, that's a good way to live!

I hope I'd mostly be crying because a watch like that is a piece of art, and I don't like the thought of it just being gone. To me it's almost like a painting or something like that - it will last hundreds of years and give a lot of people a lot of pleasure if it's taken care of properly. We can only hope that someone found it and took care of it.

And the truth is I don't know if I could be as sanguine about losing it as you are. I'd probably cry a little just because I didn't have it anymore, haha. You're a better man than I!

My first of these. So far I wouldn't call it mild... Closer to medium.

If I'm going to be studying all day, at least I can smoke another one.

The Damaso is under filled, bland and smokes as fast as a cigarette. Abject failure from Padron. I've smoked three, all different vitolas. Most
    disappointing release in years.

Warped makes poor cigars. Another "lifestyle" company without focus or great tobacco.

I don't have emotions, and sometimes that makes me very sad.

    Hi Tim,

I understand how you feel, much like I might feel if a 1930s Barling were to be lost. I trust that you're the better man, or at least I hope so!

2013 La Aurora Cameroon (Robusto) with water, no ice. For accuracy, this cigar looks to be a slim 50 rg, perhaps 48, but I like that.

I had lunch with some friends and during our conversation some names and details escaped me but I still remember what my first La Aurora, (Cameroon wrapper), tasted like in the 1980s and this is much like that cigar but with more body, fruit and a touch of sweetness. At this thinner RG it's a very nice smoke but I fear that this is my last.

    Pete
