2007 Macanudo Hyde Park. Last of a few from this year. Age suits it well, very smooth, but I prefer the old Jamaica Macs and their distinctive sweetness that's never been present in the Dominican made sticks. Still good though.

Listening to some Mozart and the crickets with no sign of the raccoons and their incessant fighting (and snarling). Guess they're on vacation (hope that they went to Wally World). So nice I may stay up for another after stick is history

I really like this stick, one of my favorites.

With you 100 percent on thequality of the ol Jamacian Macanudos, they were so very fine. Miss 'em.
Haven't had a Hyde Park in years, may have to try a few. Thanks for reminding me of those.

Enjoying my first in a long time FDLA. And the wife asked if she could keep it lit while I got her another glass of wine. When I got back it took me a little bit to pry it out of her hands. And not a few minutes later I got the first of hopefully many "let me have that back, I like it"'s from SWMBO

    Hi Bob,

It's too bad that the entire Jamaican cigar industry blew up. Macanudo, Mario Palomino, Royal Jamaican and Flor de Jamaica were some nice sticks

By 1982 my wife covered my store more than anyone and she was (remains) trusting of everyone. I didn't smoke a lot of Macs because they were too dear for a poor tobacconist but we were going through a lot of Prince Philips (~$2.00 in those days ) but no one remembered selling them except a few to an older man (~70) who only chewed them (like chaw, into a horrible looking sticky and soaking mess). This guy wore enough jewelry to make Tiffanys blush.

One day he paid for a single cigar but he'd pocketed 6 more and I caught him red-handed. I held him and called Mall Security. He was stunned when I wanted to press charges (I later estimated that he'd stolen at least 500 cigars over a couple of years). He opened a wallet stuffed with hundred dollar bills (1982) and threw three at me. I took the money, told security to let him go and never saw him again.

    Pete

Corona. Very good stick, highly recommend it.
One game in Utah, Jordan dunked on John Stockton. Jazz owner Larry Miller yelled "pick on someone your own size." On the next possession he dunked on 7'1 center Mel Turpin and shouted "he big enough for you?"

When told that Clyde Drexler was a better three-point shooter than him, Jordan responded "Clyde is a better three-point shooter than I choose to be." Then he hit 6 threes in game 1.

This it seems is one of the extremely rare times I've two brain cells lighting up at the same time.
    So...
I do remember smoking the Prince Phillip, also the Royal Jamaican ,perhaps but not sure about the Flor de Jamaica, tho can't recall the Mario Palomino cigars at all.
Some of the Canary Islands cigars of that period...70s-80s were also quite nice. In Madrid, Spain very easy to find Cubans, but in Vitoria Gasteiz (Basque territory ) no luck, tho Canary Islands cigars (can't recall the brands) were readily available and of excellent quality.
As I remember Puros Vargas Reserva, La Palma Canary Islands Cigars, were available here in U.S.
Good Long Filler Handmades, popular sizes I think were Presidentes & Churchills.
    Best regards,
    Bob.
