    Very disappointing.

2013 Oliva "G" Robusto with Dr. Brown's Diet Black Cherry.

A redux with a much better cigar, improved in every way but the inconsistency between the same cigar, in the same package is striking.
    Good evening Pete,
Intended to comment on your post earlier, missed doing so, and now see that you've added an update.
can't be precise, but think it was about a year and a half ago when I noticed an abrupt drop in the Oliva G cigars, not sure of the size, but think a Lonsdale.
Cigars purchased from two retail shops exhibited the same lack and the wrappers hadn't the shiny look I was used to seeing. The salesman/counterman in the one shop said he'd noticed the Oliva G cigars had changed, said it was most likely do to a less than good crop. Don't recall smoking any of the Oliva G cigars since that time.
Glad you were able to enjoy the next one you chose.
    Cheers.

    Morning Bob,

Of the three Oliva Flight Samplers (robusto), one was used and stolen on Turkey Day and I'm plowing through the second currently. The Connecticut and Saison are close to what they should be but the "O and especially the "G" (as you noted) are weak. Small consolation that the Thanksgiving cigar thief ended up mostly "G" and "O". Teach that prick not to steal cigars .

You may be right that it was a weak crop but that would mean that Oliva sells their best leaf. The construction has been as bad as abysmal. I'm not as adventurous as you guys and I tend to pay more for brands that I have a track record with. These weren't expensive, ~$60 per, (smaller) but if Oliva thinks that this is the quality that should bear their name then I can't remain their customer.

2013 Oliva Connecticut Robusto with New Mexico Pinon coffee, light (thanks Chico @Chico.Ortiz108) and a chilly morning. Better stick from this lot.

    later...
Doubled down on the Oliva Connecticut but this one is mediocre in construction and flavor.

Smoked this Gurkha Park Avenue yesterday while doing some repair and maintenance on daughter's car. Thought I'd show off the cool cigar ashtray I picked up at Home Depot

You oughta know not to stand by the window, somebody see you up there.
