Had a Gurkha Empire Series II last night. Freaking fantastic. Seriously. Four years old. I have a lot of 3-5 year old Gurkhas I've been smoking lately. Mostly very impressed with the aging process.

The Honey and Handgrenades didn't let me down. It was one of the most unique cigars I've smoked, starting with the presentation and then all through the smoke. The pipe smokers will know what I'm talking about when I say it distinctly reminded me of Dunhill Nightcap (or is it Early Morning?), with a singular mossy flavor that I (rightly or wrongly) associate with Latakia. San Cristobal Revelation I've had in the humi for about 6 months. That was a very good cigar. I'm gonna have to get more.
Smoking on a Flor de Oliva that was sent to me recently.
I noticed it had a bit of a rough begin in that smoothed out a bit in maybe ten minutes. This has me curious as I've had this happen with a couple of cigars now. What's going on with it to do this?

Had one of the new Gurkha Park Avenue Habano wrapper sticks this p.m. Always liked the CT and maduros, so I picked up a fiver of these to try them out. In the future I'll be sticking with the CTs and maduros :)

I honestly have no idea.
They were in a box by the door of the walk in humidor at my local shop for $1.90 each. They said "seconds" and the sticker on them said "sweet".
I said, "What the hell" and grabbed one because I knew I was going golfing today and I don't take good sticks on the course any more. I was actually surprised. It was only slightly sweet and was very smooth. At about the 2" mark it got bitter and I tossed it but the first 4" was actually good. It stayed lit no matter how long I sat it down. I'm going to pick up a handful of them next time I'm in just for the golf course.
