2012/3 La Gloria de Cubana ??. Size is about 5-3/4" x 48-rg. Cafe du Monde (New Orleans) coffee, light.
A blind tasting of sorts. I'm unfamiliar with this La Gloria (different band) and I forgot the details while it's been sitting in my smoking humidor for a few years. Usually nothing lasts more than a couple of months in there.
Excellent construction, well flagged. Beautiful, clean CT type wrapper but a bit darker and more saturated color than Ecuador grown. Initially a tight draw but quickly improved (to firm) and a near perfect burn.
More subtle than CT with a heavy does of Nicaraguan leaf, yet brighter than a Macanudo. Has more depth, body and nuance than either. I taste Dominican and Nicaraguan leaf but there's something else that I can't place (and I don't think is the wrapper). Nice snork that's rich and sweet with a little spice.
Started like a Macanudo with cajones and has gently evolved toward Nic-CT in sweetness but more cream and less acid. An exceptional Connecticut stick.
