One of my favorite low-rent maduros :)

I suspect they may have plenty of years behind them anyway. I hope you weren't one of the "non-Cubans don't age well" crowd. I hate having to so drastically alter one's perceptions. Kind of like having to tell a kid there is no Santa Claus. :highly_amused:
I hope you enjoy every one of them as much as you have the first few brother! :thumb:
Droy,
There must be a few of those thieves out there,I'm sure some of my, My Fathers Cigars are being stolen.
Who ever it is sure likes the M.F. Coronas,I like them so once a box is open will burn a couple pretty quickly,
but in short order I'm lucky to find one left in the humidor.
Think I'll get some Ron Mexicos,or Ghurkas, switch bans with the MF cigars, that might put a stop to this.

Taking a cigar break with a 2012 Montecristo Double Corona, iced Diet Pepsi, Seattle (still) Sports Radio on a chilly Fall night.
Draw's a bit stiff, burning well with a nice leathery flavor however not a $9.00 stick so I'm glad I paid less.
Well I've never had the pleasure of smoking a Grimalkin so I can't do a head to head comparison. This cigar is very rich and flavorful and definitely Nicaraguan but not too heavy or overpowering. It starts off medium but ends med-full with some very nice coffee and cocoa notes but not as much as the AF1 from the same maker. I got a little bit of leather through the middle but it faded at the end. Burn and draw were outstanding. I was very pleased with this cigar and look forward to the rest of the 5er that I bought.
A little My Father today. Don't know yet what I'll smoke tonight.

Turett Tripple-Play 7x54 with Gran Centinario Anejo.
I had a Tripple-Play a while ago in Toro and thought highly of it. This was more watery, much less concentrated but still decent. In this pairing it worked because the Gran Centinario was 38% abv. Nice mellow experiance all round where the flavours didn't clash.
Would get the Toro next time - not even close...
My Father #1 Robusto...5.2x52...on a nice cool day.
2013 Rock Patel Connecticut with coffee, light.
I keep finding these in samplers bought off of the Devil Sight. This stick is pretty solid while the two before it (not from the same sampler package) weren't particularly good.
Hope that you all had a good morning.

Posted about this box here: Cigar Beetle Thread
Picked up a couple of boxes (have to look for the other) after sampling them ~2012. True morning cigar, very light but it has distinct flavors of bright leaf tobacco (Virginia), honey, citrus and hay. Age (2 years) smoothed them into a consistently delightful smoke with flavors that linger, honey and orange, long after the smoke is done. Smokes very much like a cross between pipe tobacco and a cigar but gentle on the tongue and almost no acid. Think Dominican Olor meets Lemon and Pekoe Virginia. Construction is good (enough) and interesting as it's a pigtail with a shaggy foot, burned well with sufficient smoke and consistent flavor throughout. Easily my favorite Arganese that I've yet smoked.
I bought my boxes for $19 (12 cigars) on CigarBid but prices quickly went into the mid $30. and then I didn't see them any more. They're worth the higher price.

Legado De Pepin....
At first glance this looks like a cigar, this is a high performance reward for a tough day. Every time I light one it impresses me, the burn, smoke production and seductive aromas and flavors are so consistent. About time to buy another box.

You're on to something here...I'd not made the connexion until your (above) post.
Seems that any morning there're fewer cigars in the humidor than I recall being there the night before.
Those are the mornings when searching the fridge for somtehing to eat along with my coffee, there are a lot fewer frog legs...and worse of all
...clean out of Balut. Now,may simply be coincidence...but ?

Opus X Lost City Piramide with coffee. Nice smoke with some trademark caramel notes from the Camaroon wrapper. Different from the regular Opus X and med bodied but not lacking any of the complexity. Nice smoke and worth trying but I won't be buying any more due to price...
I too like most of what AJ makes. Perhaps it's individual body chemistry because there are some well regarded blenders, like Quesada for me, where I can rarely snuggle up to their sticks. Even the budget AJ sticks are pretty well made and consistent (Gurkha, are you listening?).

Liked yesterday afternoon's stick (same) so well that I hadn't smoked since then (a while for me). This one's not as good, less sweet and distinct, some construction and wrapper issues but it fits the morning well. It's not finishing with the great aftertaste of the last.
