Let's not forget the Gran Habano Vintage 2002 from couple years ago. They were great budget smokes after a year or so!
On the other side of the spectrum, I found the Vegas Miami to be pretty bland after a year. I'm not sure what people were raving about. They probably changed profile as well.
OK, yeah, now I follow you. Imho, though almost every cigar can benefit from a little sleep time, I think in general, the cheaper the cigar the greater that benefit can be. So I will second @Tman 's GH Vintage 2002, but will also say I've seen Avos and The Griffin's benefit greatly from a year's rest, too.
I've found certain cigars smoke best after being rested over a year. A perfect example, found by accident, is the Cain Ligero. A box was gifted to me several years ago. I tried a few and they were too harsh for me. So, I just left them in my "spare" humidor (which is fairly large) for a long - long - time. At least a year passed and I decided to try one again. Oddly, it smoked amazing. Now, this cigar is in the smoking rotation on a yearly cycle. My family smokes a great deal so we now have a box of these cigars resting untouched at all times.
With this realization a few years ago my family began resting certain cigars we thought had potential. We'd simply place them in our spare humidor and the just rested for month and month (years and years). Many cigars, especially moderately priced cigars, seem to smoke great with this process. To me are there are many sleeper cigars that can be found like this.
Nica Libre.
I have a box of principe that have been resting about a year, and the previous box that rested a year was really impressive for the price.
On that note, I haven't seen the principe size available, anyone know if they're still available?
The Alec Bradley Maxx Brasil are a sleeper with a year on them and can be had for next to nothing on CBid. You're all welcome... lol
Nice try MF'r!
