I might smoke one ROTT or soon after buying for science but generally I let them sit 4-6 weeks before revisiting. But I do have the luxury of having plenty of other choices so as others have said rest is no problem.
No cigar until you get a par - birdie if it's a scramble !

I probably have over a dozen emails a day from various sites that I ordered from. Always looking for that great deal or forgotten box of cigars that they may put up for sale. As far as rest; at a minimum they will sit for 6-8 weeks.

Three months minimum. It's worth it. I've actually been a little low on ready-to-smoke singles lately because I just wasn't buying much earlier this year but smoking a ton during the stay-at-home order. Instead of breaking my rule and just smoking them without proper rest, I've been relying on my B&M. It's good to support them, but it does get pricey when you're paying retail price. I've got A LOT of cigars about to have their three month birthday, however.

All mine sit at least a year it seems. I have plenty cigars but probably only smoke half a dozen a year and give away at least as many as I smoke. At this point, the only cigars I'd actually consider buying are a box of Anejos and maybe a couple 5pks of 8-5-8 candelas. Candelas don't get a lot of love these days but those AFs are really nice with a year on them when you want a mild and sweet cigar. Never tried one fresh. I digress... A year. That's my answer. Mostly I smoke one of my pipes... my Virginias all sit for at least a year too...
Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

Looks like there isn't a general consensus. Didn't expect the ranges from 7 days, to a couple weeks, to months to...A YEAR...3 for AF! It's good to know the rest time theory is valid. I'll stick with the two weeks and go from there.

It depends, mine tend to rest 10 - 15 minutes from time of opening the shipping box, but I think I am far from the norm and I don't order much. I just go to the B&M 99% of the time.

Yeah, a good B&M is a totally different story. So are some of the online retailers - you just get to know who ships in what condition.

From the source you specifically inquired about, I'd highly suggest 2 months vs 2 weeks.

Then again, if you grabbed multiples and just want to try one at 2 weeks, (I've been tempted too) and see what you've got, it's your choice.
