Roman Bueso Genesis Habano (Review)
This is my first review and my palate is limited, so take this for what it is. However, if you are a fan of the Project blend by Ramon Bueso, then you may like this one too.
I had the first of a 5er of the robusto (5x50) I had in my humi for a couple of weeks at 65rh. Like its cousin the Project, the construction on these is great.
Pre-Light: Smells of sweet tobacco and a hint of same with some spice on the cold draw. Draw was perfect. Decent amount of peppery burn on the lips and tongue from the wrapper.
1st Third: A lot of spice and sweet tobacco. Serious pepper on the retro hale.
2nd Third: Spice backed off with the sweet tobacco remaining and some earth coming forward. Still tons of pepper on the retro hale.
Last Third: Same as the 2nd third but the earthy notes kinda seemed more like roasted nuts at this point.
This was definitely a full bodied smoke in the flavor department. No relights, burn was even and only required one minor touch up during the last third. You can definitely tell that this cigar is a relative of the Project but still something all its own. I have always found that the Project comes out the gate strong and heavier in the 1st third and mellows for the last 2/3. I found the same to be true for the Habano. The Project is a constant presence in my humi and the Habano will be as well.

Well done. Sounds like a good after dinner smoke.
Don't be surprised if it gets moved to the review section. Oh, and RG for having the nuts to take the time to write your first review!

I wondered about this latest smoke in the line. I liked the original project and thought the odyssey was a pretty great smoke. I've seen them on the daily deal a few times but just can't pull the trigger...

I usually wait until I can get a good price on cbid. The CI main site is running a special now, box + a 5er.

Thank you for the review on these. Love the original Project...
