So @Old Smokey started a thread asking how long your current cigar inventory would last you if you bought no more cigars and it got me thinking...

Yes, most of us have built up inventories of cigars we like. Good deals, the looming FDA regs, having stock to age, just plain out of control Cbid buying (aka the @DogRockets syndrome) - whatever the reason we've all done it.

The question is - if you were to get hit by a bus while out walking while smoking your favorite cigar do you have a plan for your stash ?
Do you have instructions, someone named to take your stash or some sort of a plan in place - or even should we ?
Certainly none of us thinks it will be the last cigar in our humidor that we smoke just before the bright light comes. What about the stogies you leave behind ?

I've seen some posts around the forums where a brother has unexpectedly passed on and someone has volunteered to sell off the stock to help out the family. In some cases that will bring in some much needed funds for a family who really can use it. In other cases it's just a matter of getting them to someone who will enjoy them rather than donating them or worse yet - just throwing them in the trash.

I have been toying with the idea of posting this and Steve's post was a natural lead in.

And further should we, as a brotherhood or community, establish a way for family to contact a volunteer(s) who would be able to assist if needed ?

Sorry to be so deep - just something I was thinking about.

I personally do not currently have a plan but have been thinking of putting something together because I don't envision my wife smoking all these cigars !
