I think the price is my biggest aversion to them. I tend to sample new smokes from local sources and around here even the x000 series is priced pretty high. There just always seems to be other things in that price range I want to try more, so I put them off till later.

Ok I'm a minority here. I'm not a padron fan. But that being said the x000 series are good smokes. I've smoked just about every cigar in the line and haven't been overwhelmed. But with that being said they burn perfect . Razor sharp and never had a problem with construction. Just not my wheel house.

That is surprising. Online the 2000s are $4.85 (at cigarplace.biz) and at my local B&M they're only $1 more. That's pretty darn good. Usually you see much more than a buck a stick markup.
Maybe it's because they buy and sell so many they get a better price wholesale, I don't know.

I never said they were bad! Well, to be honest, I don't care for the x000 maduros, but the nats are good, especially at just under $5.
They might be an important staple if I were smoking every day, but I don't, so rarely have any stocked.
I will say Padron has the best construction, burn, and draw I have ever come across. There are 2 brands I have never had any construction issues with:
AF and Padron.

Definitely two top notch brands construction wise.
I would add Montecristo and Davidoff to that list, but for the price they better have good construction.
I smoked quite a few Montecristos (the U.S. version) when I first started smoking cigars because I only liked mild sticks. I realize they don't get a lot of love because of the high MSRP and mild flavors but I've always found construction to be impeccable.

Didn't think anyone was bashing them. They are probably one of the best construction sticks out there. Flavor safe good but not my favs.

I blame it entirely on that specific shop. They have some pretty screwy pricing going on. Some are close to double online prices, others are almost at online pricing. They just happen to be the only shop in my area with Padrons.

I'm not a fan of maduros, generally, but there are a few exceptions.
The 1926 No. 9 Natural is one of my top 5 smokes of all time. They are expensive, but I keep a few in my humidor for special occasions at all times.
I find the X000 series in Natural merely OK. Good, mind you, but not a top 10 cigar.
I did not really care for a 1964 Natural I tried awhile back, but I've been meaning to try the 1964 in Maduro since everyone really seems to like it that way.

I enjoy the maduros in the 26 and 64 series. The naturals are good but not as good as the maddies to me. One of my favorite budget cigars is a x000 series Churchill in maduro with 1-2 years on them. So smooth, so tasty!

I've become a big fan of the 1964 Maduro, specially the Exclusivio. My brother likes the Naturals in these but pulled out a Maduro the other day and went "WOW!"
