OK, this is Odd
Or maybe not..?
Have you ever found yourself coaxing yourself to like a middlin' cigar just because it has a "name", or because everyone else seemingly does?
Or, have you really enjoyed a no-name or budget smoke only to think, "How can I like this much less be seen with it or pass one on to another Bum"?
Odd behavior Freud would love to dissect. lol.
Now, I can almost predict some of the comments to come, and from whom, But, such phenomenon was also I guess the impetus for the now universal "blind pass".

No you're not the only one, I'm surrounded by people that swear by sticks just because of the band. I myself was probably a victim of doing the same when I first tried cigars, but it something that quickly changed the first time I had a Davidoff. I remember turning toward my cousin and exclaiming something along the lines of wtf if this and how much did you pay for those again?! Now there's no doubt that Davidoff is a premium cigar brand, but I've never been able to detect more than a sight note of brown paper bag from them. On the flip side... Recently I was given an online store production esclusive stick (wrath by studio tobac) and I reluctantly lit it up as to not offend the host, but the stick gave me a great performance and a nice favor ride $9 cigars fail to have done.
So in short. "As the saying goes taste is subjective", so just trust your taste buds, try everything and smoke what you like.

. "..brown paper bag". Lol. Very good. And good advice too. Been thinking lately, while life may be "like a box of chocolates", cigars can be too. And that I guess is what keeps things interesting.

I'm strictly a person who goes by taste unless she's ugly and rich and then I can be persuaded to change my value system. I can be such a bastage.

Try everything and then smoke what you like.
But I will say I think it's rare to find only one stick of a brand / blender / factory that you like or don't. You try a few and like or dislike them - it will probably extend to the others in that brand / blender / factory.
No cigar until you get a par - birdie if it's a scramble !

True, as I could live quite nicely off of just the My Father brands, for instance.

Truer words have never been spoken. I think I'm at a point where AJ can just manufacture wooden dowels and sell them as cigars, and I'm sure I'd love them.

Yep - I'm the same way with Crowned Heads and they're coming from multiple factories although pretty good ones.

Yessir, I do try to find the excellent/good bargain smokes floating around. I do wish that I could drop $10-$15 on a smoke everyday, but I have enough going out to fishing and farming and all that entails. I guess I could buy them, but plant my caboose here at home. That'll last about two weeks before the wifey beats my azz and runs me to the woods and water.....
Like my father before me, I will work the land,
And like my brother before me, I took a rebel stand.

My dad's favorite cigar was Antony & Cleopatra. He'd tell his friends smoking premiums, don't waste good cigars on me
I'm kind of the same way, although I can't quite stomach A&Cs anymore. My favorites (from outside of Castroland) are RP Edge Blue (Habano) and Graycliff Platinum or "Original," both of which can be found under $5 if you're patient.
You oughta know not to stand by the window, somebody see you up there.
