The morning cigar
Until a few weeks ago I had never tried a cigar in the morning. I always waited until afternoon or evening. The idea of a morning smoke didn't really grab me.
But recently my schedule and my advanced age have contributed to making me too tired most evenings to enjoy a smoke, so I missed out on a lot of evening cigars. Finally I decided that if I was going to have a cigar, it would have to be in the morning on a day off.
Now, I love a good glass of wine or port with a cigar, and drinking in the morning isn't my thing, so I wondered how I would work that out.
Well, based upon what others have mentioned over the years, and on what made sense as I thought about it, I figured I'd try a pretty light, sweet smoke for a morning cigar. And that flavor profile pairs nicely with green tea, or even yerba mate for a more medium smoke.
Color me converted. I roll a blend of Dominican and Sumatran fillers in an Indonesian Besuki wrapper that is sweet, creamy, mild, and just a little spicy. Perfect with tea and perfect for a morning. There is also a particular (and particularly inexpensive) variety of cigars-that-shall-not-be-named that turn to honey and vanilla creaminess after a couple of years in hiding. These, too (if indeed they exist, which we all know they do not), are perfect with tea and pre-noon sunshine. Even my beloved Curly Heads and Short Stories make decent morning smokes.

I know what you mean. I'm also starting to think the Guten Cala cigars really don't exist.

I just do not want a cigar - or any tobacco for that matter - in the morning. I've tried it... and come deer hunting I'll try it again but it just doesn't do anything for me. I also don't like going to bed with tobacco mouth so I'm not one for an evening smoke either. A cigar or pipe is a 'sometime in the afternoon' thing for me. Just my $0.02 for reference.
Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

I'll have to try to get in touch with the Gutencalabergs and see if they'll send me a little something to review.

Unless I'm mistaken their cigars are only made availailable to a few very select smokers belonging the innermost circles of the Bilderberg group (none of whom have ever been photographed smoking a GutanCala.)
That is easily explained when we recall that those controlling the world are not seen with Superyachts or Maybach Exeleros.
Those bits of flashy bling are the provence of the trashy celebrities so beloved by the MSM.
Those with the real wealth/power are not mere Presidents or PMs nor do they head up the banks, stock markets, etc.
They simply control,unseen.

Morning smoking is where is at for me, especially in the summer down here. When the temperature drops to a lovely 95 degrees by 10:00 at night, 80 degree mornings are quite inviting.
I love coffee with a cigar, and hot chocolate too. I'm not a tea drinker and have never tried that combo.
I've also gotten to the point that I don't even mind a med-full cigar in the AM.

Bummin' Around
I will occassionally enjoy a medium-bodied cigar on Saturday or Sunday morning with my coffee and find it highly enjoyable.

I hardly ever smoke in the morning or even early afternoon. My schedule just doesn't permit it. BUT...I'm playing in a work related golf tournament tomorrow...so I will definitely be having a morning cigar at tee off!

I've enjoyed Short Stories & some Coffee Infused Tabak Especials at morning auctions
But mostly I smoke in evenings, around dusk
