Why do YOU/ What do YOU love about cigars

Question is that simple. What do you love about cigar smoking/ why do you love cigar smoking.

For me its really simple. I love cigar smoking becuase of the comradery. Meeting new people and having something in common but on the other hand so much not in common with the cigars different people smoke.

Not near as much as I like about pipe smoking...
...but as far as pipe smoking goes, I like the peace and quiet and the flavors and smells of pipes.
I'm not much for comradery (in fact, my auto-correct doesn't even think that's a word) since I'd rather be left alone.

with comradery i dont necessarily mean conversation at a B&M but the brotherhood like on this forum and with bombs and wanting to help each other out.

I enjoy smoking cigars because, first off, it helps relax me at the end of the day. I'm fortunate enough to have an indoor place to smoke, well-ventilated, with plenty of entertainment and a comfortable chair. It's nice to be able to kick back, light up, sip a drink, watch the Pirates or a movie, or play a little Xbox golf. My son just recently got into cigars, so he'll occasionally join me. Funny, when he was younger he didn't want to be seen too often with Dad (even though his friends thought he had the coolest father), now he's good with hanging with me for a bit. I am also fortunate to be near a cigar bar that holds monthly tasting events, and have met quite a few friendly folks of all ages (none of whom work in the same business, I hate talking shop after work) there. It's the laid back attitude and camaraderie that makes it special. It's also nice to unwind alone.

I like cigar smoking simply for the relaxation of it. I simply sit back on the deck or by the campfire with a beverage of my choosing and enjoy the smoke with no other distractions. I usually smoke alone or with select close friends...not much for hanging out with strangers in a lounge.

    Great thread.

For me, it's that I enjoy every aspect of smoking a good cigar. I love discerning different flavors and expanding my palate. I am also a fan of the physical act of smoking, although I do not smoke cigs. Something about taking a slow draw from a stick, and letting the smoke slowly billow out of my mouth and nose while watching the cigar burn down ever so slightly and evenly is just so relaxing to me.

I also love the fact that having a smoke forces you to just sit down and relax for a couple of hours.

I love the community aspect of cigars. On this forum, you make a lot of friends through passes, bombs and everyday chatter.

The part of the cigar I love is the relaxation and variety. I really enjoy smoking something new and being able to taste the differences between cigars. Also, the fact that it can be just you and a cigar for a time is something special.
Let's go invent tomorrow instead of worrying about what happened yesterday.

Everyone has pretty much already covered it. The relaxation, forcing me to sit and take time out to have a smoke; the camaraderie of it with buddies on the golf course or you Bums here (which starts with cigars and extends into life in general); the wide variety of new sticks to try and as Kevin said above - just the physical act of slowly smoking a good cigar.

And since no one has said it yet, but someone will........ it also provides a little quiet time away from the better half LOL
No cigar until you get a par - birdie if it's a scramble !

ha! I think that's the reason why, although my ex hated smoke, she tolerated my cigars.

That last reason stops working when she starts asking you to pick up some for her to try. As of two days ago I now have an infused tupperdor and a small section of a normal tupperdore with her sticks in them.

But, what I enjoy most is the forced relaxation time. It's time away from the rest of the house that I can enjoy and do only what I want to do. I'm not a social person when I smoke, so the only comraderie is from you bums.
