Does anyone know of a Lancero sampler anywhere online other than the Tatuaje ones? I don't recall ever seeing any despite there being many other lanceros out there.
Lanceros are supposed to be one of the hardest vitolas to roll. I remember seeing in a factory video, I believe it was JDN, that they only allow a few of the better rollers to make them and the rollers also need to have big hands.
A tricky thing with lanceros is their typically only made with 2 leaves in the filler. So not only does all the leaf have to be really good the harmony does too or there just won't be any complexity. Like in the case of the L40 some lanceros are slightly bigger in RG than the traditional 7x38 to try and add more depth to the blend. According to Saka these limitations only allow certain blends to lend themselves to the format. Which makes a good lancero even more special.
I probabbly should have looked a bit harder. So I'll add one more!

Pretty much all of the reasons are already listed in the previous answers. It is a classic vitola that is pretty much only rolled by real masters of technique. Also keep in mind that most blends are fine tuned in the Corona format so I feel with a Lancero you get a little closer to what the blend was intended to be as opposed to these huge jaw breaker sizes.
Plus they just look elegant and exude class. :)
The samplers you guys posted look great. I'm gonna give one or two a try and see what they are all about for myself. Thanks gentlemen!!
