I've all but stopped being worried about mold, green board, and vapor barriers. I"ve applied a primer/sealer w/mildew inhibitor on all the walls.

I've called every place within a couple hours of me - even posted on carpenter forums - and nobody in SoCal has Spanish Cedar Ply. Many have or can order board feet.

The good news is, I've found a couple one stop vendors who are working up package prices for me.

The door is the other pain in the ass: Too small an opening for a slider (they make 'em, but just too narrow for my taste). Exterior French doors will seal tight, but cost a load of dough and require a threshold at the bottom. I'm leaning towards an interior set of French doors with some weather stripping.

I asked a place to quote me on a cabinet to just slide into the closet and it as $8K w/o any options :faint: It was really nice though!

All but set on paneling with shelves against back wall only and putting humidifier to one side.

The door continues to be THE pain! This isnt a traditional doorway rough opening, because it was dry walled in. I'll most likely have to cut the drywall back and special order a prehung door to the opening.

So "walk in" may be over stated after talking to door guy - when talking options, he said "so you want to be able to close the door behind a fat lady" Help Convert Closet to (small) Walk In HumidorHelp Convert Closet to (small) Walk In HumidorHelp Convert Closet to (small) Walk In Humidor

Ok, so I'm working on a "step in" humidor". Fat lady optional.

After being a month overdue, I have a delivery appointment for the cedar. This was after endless calls to the freight company and Cedar supplier. The supplier is a cool guy and a victim of the freight company as much as I am, but in the end he chose them. So I finally told him I was going to call my CC company and file a claim. He understood and said he was about to file a loss claim with the freight company and had reached out to his broker several times.

As relieved as I am, this is 2020 and I'm fully expecting the crate to looked like they dragged across the country- wish me luck.

Interesting that you now may be getting your wood right after @Tombstone posted that ad
