Clear Havanas from that online auction place ...

Just out of curiosity - anyone ever take a stab at one of those eBay auctions for a vintage cigar box containing some cigars that are not for consumption seeing that the value is in the packaging and the bands?

So, next question - did you get your money's worth? Cigars seemed properly stored?

Nope. Why risk it when you can buy from legit vendors at roughly the same price or sometime even less? And if you receive just a box, you have no recourse as that was what you bid on, no matter what was indirectly implied.

Vendors - plural? I only know of Gotham Cigar Museum for pre-embargo/clear Havanas. But as you say, the prices there are comparable. Still risk getting cigars that have been poorly stored at some point in their history, but that kind of goes with the territory.

Well, now that I think of it, Christie's sometimes has boxes for sale, but the price is not comparable - definitely Christie's prices!

David bought some Florida Queens from Gotham and was pleased with his purchase....
Like my father before me, I will work the land,
And like my brother before me, I took a rebel stand.

Yeah - my plan is to pick up a few Clear Havanas from Gotham sometime soon. I want have them on hand over the next few years to celebrate upcoming stages of withdrawal from my current job.

Expect some of the Florida Queens mightn't be too smooth.... shaven that is.

Oooops...the Florida Queens you mentioned to are cigars.

How old would they be? At a guess I'd say 1940s ~ 1950s, maybe earlier still.

And wonder how much taste they might have when smoked.
