Golf and cigars
In my opinion golf and cigars go hand in hand. And with golf season fast approaching its time to stock the humidor for the weekend outings.
What is everyones favorite stick is for hitting the links?
Let's go invent tomorrow instead of worrying about what happened yesterday.

I dont necessarily have a favorite, but I usually don't take a first time smoke out there. I want something that's going to have a good bit of filler to keep in burning when I'm constantly dropping and picking it up. So a toro or robusto for the front nine and then something with a little flavor for the back nine like a Java, Tabak Especial or one of the fire cured sticks.

I tend to smoke maduros on the golf course as the wrappers tend to be more robust. I think cigar makers use a thicker leaf when they age/cook the maduro wrappers.
I generally pick a cigar that I know gives me a fairly good volume of smoke, but is medium/medium-full in strength. My golfing buddies tend to forget their cigars when they come to the course and without fail, bum sticks from me. For those guys, I try to remember to bring the nastiest, strongest, blow-the-back-of-your-head-off ligero (essence of ammonia preferably) to hand out to those guys that bring nothing but the habit.

Still a fat kid
Like David mentioned, I don't bring a first time smoke. I go with something straightforward that is reliable. Last year it seemed like the majority of the time I was grabbing a Don Pepin Classic, but I am sure that will change this year.

Something cheap.
I started trying to enjoy a cigar when playing golf and it ends up going out and me re-lighting it so many times that its nasty no matter what I take. I've stopped taking one at all most of the time.
Maybe I'm doing it wrong, I dunno.
Check out my Youtube channel, Razorback Piper Guy if you like that sort of thing.

I thought I was the only one to do this. Last season I caught a notorious cigar moocher off guard with a punisher, I then told him if he couldnt handle it the womens tees were right there and the rest of the foursome lost it.
Myself I prefer to start the day with a robusto of the med-full variety usually about hole 3 or 4 and finish with something full bodied for the back nine. Cant say I have a favorite though.

I have never had one go out on me... I have left a couple or tossed one on the ground to hit my shot and couldn't find it after but never had to relight. I do take them with me everywhere though, bunker, green, long walks to the other side of the hole (cart path only).. Don't know.

I like something that will stay burning well and has some flavor but nothing that's too complex or expensive where I feel I'd need to sit down and really pay attention to it. I really like stuff like RyJ, H Upmann and Montecristo classic on the lighter side and Flor de las Antillas and La Aroma de Cuba for something with more flavor. I'll leave the LP #9 and Padron Anniversary's at home for when I can really enjoy them...
