That’s cool that you live in the totality area Paul. We were 95% and while it was cool, it didn’t get overly dark. Which IMO is the coolest part. My cat attacked my dog out of the blue, which he never does. Cat is 25lbs, so he can do damage, but smartly the dog ran away.
Enjoy and care for your parents, once they are gone you become an orphan!

I remember from the one in 2017. As it began to get dark, all the birds stopped singing and flying about. Was weird!

Full-on Scraggly Bum
Wife and I left a little too late and ended up turning around and watched from home. The traffic was too crazy. I was a little bummed so i decided to slay a Unicorn while enjoying what we could see from home…

This is not my photo, but was taken by a friend of a friend just a few miles from where I live.

Quite amazing, really.
The sun’s diameter is 400 times the diameter of the moon, and the moon “happens” to be 400 times closer to earth so that the apparent sizes are nearly identical, allowing for our eclipse.
A near impossible probability.
Coincidence? I think not.
