Dry cured and other short smoke options?
Hi folks,
I started smoking cigarettes at age 13, and was a 2 pack a day smoker for nearly 30 years. When I got into pipe smoking I quickly went from 2 pks a day down to 1, and when I got into smoking cigars I got down to slightly less then half a pk a day. I am ready to finally quit once and for all, but I also believe it's much easier to change/replace a behavior instead of stopping it (at least in regards to "bad" habbits)
What I am looking for are good 10-15min smokes, I don't know much about dry cured cigars, but they look promising for the purpose. Cigarillos may be another option, but I am trying to keep it on the cheaper side for this purpose. I am not interested in black and milds/swisher sweets, etc... as I would much prefer natural tobacco, not filled with a bunch of chemicals.
So I guess my question is, what are some decent quality dry cured smokes, and if the cost isn't to bad I would entertain some cigarillo suggestions.
EDIT-I meant to add, I am not looking for anything infused.
Thanks in advance, and I hope you are all doing well.
Chris

De Nobili nice smoke that comes in a 5 or 10 pack can't remember which. Also has a long version which could be cut in half doubling the count.

I smoke the kings (4 1/2 x 34) and that's closer to a 25 minute smoke, but the Ammezzatis (3 1/2 x 34, same as the Denobli Popular) are closer to 15-20 minutes. And the side benefit is that you can throw them in your glove compartment unhumidifed, smoke them years later and hardly notice the difference.

Sorry to resurrect an oldie, but didn’t see a point in starting a new one…
Well this obviously didn’t happen the way I wanted it too. I did cut down a good bit though.
I am ready though, especially now after everything that happened 3 weeks ago. Now it’s getting slightly cooler out, my plan is to use some of the above suggestions, as well as bring back into my daily rotation a small pipe or two, to curb any cravings. Obviously my afternoon cigar will also play a very key role.
I’m planning to stop cold turkey, no tapering off cigarettes. All that will do is delay success.
Probably start sometime at the end of next week once I get some smaller sticks for in between, I am going to do this too, I’ve put it off far too long.

I wish you much success Chris. That is a monster I haven’t been able to slay. I grew up with both parents smoking indoors and began smoking cigarettes at age 14. I turn 70 next month and I’m still sucking on those things. It wouldn’t be much benefit for me after all of these years.
Enjoy and care for your parents, once they are gone you become an orphan!

All I can say is eight packs a day, I woke up one day in April of 1997 and threw them in the trash never looked back. My pipes and cigars have helped a lot in transitioning so did celery sticks and carrots not to mention tootsie roll pops. You got this, them stinkers don’t have a chance!
