How do you decide...

Just curious how others decide what to smoke when its their time. I imagine most of us have a pretty large selection to choose from, and even with my relatively small one I often have trouble deciding.

Until then, it's just usually what's on top in the tuppie.

i buy a bundle of the same brand and model every month. they dont last a month. i choose which one based on which one falls in my hands when i blindly reach into my humidor. ill grab 2 if i predict a friend will be at the bar and ill give him one.

For me I can’t smoke everyday due to 15 hour days at work. So, I usually use that time to contemplate what I’m going to smoke in my off time. Form a list per se in my head and smoke through it on my off days. Also let the occasion be my guide.

I never gave much thought to how I decide... until now. It’s definitely an inexact science. I think I start with how long I have to smoke and how much attention I can give the experience. Stands to reason I’m not gonna burn down my VSG (that’s this cheap bastard’s “expensive” cigar) if I’m just taking the dog around the block. I think then I move to whether I want what I’m used to and know I like or if I’m feeling adventurous. Or I just grab what’s on top.

I have an on deck case I use upstairs while all the winos and coolers are down in the basement. I grab a bunch of what looks interesting or I haven't had in a while and put them in the on deck humidor. Narrows the choices from like 400 to 40 but then it's what looks to suit the day and mood. Can honestly say I'm not a whatever's on top guy - I usually still dig thru and grab something that interests me that day
