What are cigars to you?
What're cigars to you? A hobby, an addiction, an outlet, pure self indulgence etc? Where do cigars fit in your life?

For me i would have to say it is a combination of hobby and self induction. I don't smoke a lot of cigars, about 5 a month. I just smoke one when the mood hits me. Plus I enjoy having a decent selection to choose from.

Hairy Cigar Fairy
For me an its an indulgence, a habbit, a way if life. I just love sittting back and enjoying a nice stogie after work. Just trying to pick out the flavors and enjoy the experience. At other times it is a distactiin on a long road trip. When herfin it is the common bond that has brought me together with people I would not have met otherwise. Above all else it falls in the hobby catagory where I will senselessly sink way more money in it than I should. Another aspect to cigars to me its a way of reconnecting with my grandfather that passed. He always would sit and enjoy a cherry minuet man cigar. On especially rough days I will go into my sister's humidor and smoke one of her cigars. It was the last activity we had shared in common before her passing.

Bummin' Around
Cigars are my man time. Living with a wife and daughter, I usually end up giving in to Paw Patrol, Peppa Pig, HGTV, etc. Usually around this time of the year Im smoking in the garage so when smoking Im usually fiddlin' around with my tools, workbench or something.
In the business of makin' crap happen.

It's a hobby for sure but it's more than just a hobby. It can be a great conversation starter with strangers if I'm at a B&M. A great way for me to catch up with an old friend (we both love cigars but have little time). It's an escape from a hectic day/week/month. That may be the part I love the best. Cigars can be a great reminder to just chill and enjoy life. Lighting up a cigar and just slowing everything down. 1.5-2 hours of just unwinding peacefully. Hopefully with the sounds of nature as company.

Cigars are a hobby and a way to relax and think about the past, the present and the future. I enjoy finding good deals on them, aging them, and enjoying them. Whether I smoke one alone or with a friend, it's a time to slow down and enjoy the slow pleasure of a cigar. When I smoke one with my brother, it is a time of good conversation and reminiscing. It's often accompanied by sipping on a good bourbon.

It's just a time that I love very much to just chill out back. I turn on the music box, sip a little whiskey or a cold beer (or both), work in the garden or do other yard work with my wonderful wifey and/or do some grilling. I enjoy cigars more when the weather is warmer and the days are longer, and hit the pipe more during the winter when it's cold and the days are short.....
Like my father before me, I will work the land,
And like my brother before me, I took a rebel stand.

I view pipes and cigars the same way I do bourbon and Scotch.
It is an indulgence and a hobby.
Sometimes I sit with just a smoke and a drink and reflect.
Other times I'm on here watching Youtube videos while I enjoy a smoke.
Check out my Youtube channel, Razorback Piper Guy if you like that sort of thing.
