I did this as more of an experiment to see what kind of response I would get from the company and from people on the internet. I'm not very surprised but I am a little bit enlightened. it's always interesting to see how people will react when negativity is thrown their way. Most people on the internet especially cigar boards want to be nice and be friends with everybody. I don't care about any of that and never have.
I do think however it's sad that many consumers - - not all - - immediately take the side of the retailer rather than fellow consumers. A surprising number actually. That to me is very interesting because you will never be a huge multinational corporation but some day you may get screwed over by one. Choose your allies and your enemies wisely.
That's all I have to say about this, other than the fact that puff.com deleted my post immediately and botl.org locked it after a day or two.
I guess we know whose asses they're kissing don't we?
I'm actually a little offended by this post. Makes me feel more like a sheep than a minion.
I'm not buying the "experiment". I have read all the pots you created on those boards. All have the same theme. All sounded like bashing.
I hope your not calling this experiment a success, because your results are skewed. You, as a sole anonymous Internet poster, go on-line to complain about a retailer on several different message boards where hundred's (if not significantly more) have had nothing but good dealings and service, and you expected we would all side with the consumer (who is the small minority) rather than the retailer, with whom many, many more have had good service and experiences. What did you really expect, and what was the end result from your findings? Never mind, I think I figured it out.
For the record, I do not use cigarbid. Not because I think they're a bad company, but simply because I do not like the auction format for buying cigars. I have, however, dealt with a certain Florida-based Internet shop who gets regularly bashed on forums. And I had abosulutely no problems with them. I have switched etailers, but not because of issues with the first. Both offer 10% off because of my job, but the one I use now allows me to stack discounts, where the first only permitted one discount code per order. That's the only reason I switched.
