Bummin' Around
Cigar Oasis Plus
So I have been looking at wineadors for awhile and finally decided I'm not at an appropriate cigar capacity to justify a need for one...but hey, I could make small investments towards things I might need when I DO aquire one...thus I bought a Cigar Oasis Plus.
The point of this thread is to ask those of you who have one about a little problem I have with it (not really a problem but more of an annoyance).
I have a trusted Xikar hygrometer that I've used for years and just recalibrated prior to storing it along side my new humidifier. I reseasoned my Bally 2 humidor (I think it's 100 or 150 count) placed my cigars, hygrometer, and humidifier in and let it stabilize itself. I have the humidifier set to keep a relative humidity of 68%. My hygrometer is reading 68% (with normal rise and fall of 1 or 2% in either direction depending on CA weather) but my Cigar Oasis hygrometer reads 70+. This is alright because it's keeping the rh at the desired humidity that I read from my trusted hygrometer, but I'm hesitant to recalibrate the CO hygrometer to read the same because I think it will over humidify.
I'm just wondering if any of you have one of these and if you have the same problem. If so did you recalibrate it? Or just mind the difference and leave it alone.
Personally, if I told it to keep 68% and it does, that's fine with me. Regardless of what it's telling me it thinks the rh is. But it'd be nice to see similar digits when I peak at my humidor.
Smoking my first Camacho American Barrel Aged as I type this...crazy smooth. Great cigar. Thanks in advance for any info!
