    Cigar Issues in Cold Weather

Jersey weather during the winter can get cold. I bought a nice heater a few years back that works great even when the temp drops under 32 (as long as there's no wind). I'm having problems though with my sticks. I've had issues with construction and issues with the draw. These are with sticks that I smoke very often, at my local lounge and during the warmer months, and no problems. Is anyone else, who smokes out doors in cold weather, experiencing any issues?

I get wrapper splits sometimes when I smoke dense, i.e., high-quality cigars in cold wx. Haven't had any noticeable draw issues. & no prob with the cheapies I usually smoke.
You oughta know not to stand by the window, somebody see you up there.

Humidity tends to be the culprit when smoking in the cold. Cold weather tends to keep humidity outside down. Our cigars tend to be between 60 & 70%. The cold wants to dry and constrict the wrapper but the heat and moisture inside the cigar wants to expand. This will lead to cracking of the wrapper and constricting of the airways. Dry boxing will help but the interior rh of the cigar is what needs to be loweres for outside smoking.

Got to love the north east.
