Cigar Hording
So as I was re-organizing one of my humidors last night, I realized that I have a whole section of my humidor devoted to cigars that are, for the most part, unsmokable. These are cigars that somehow got torn or crushed and I throw them in my humidor thinking, well maybe if I cut off the top 3 inches of this I will be able to smoke what's left, or if I position my hand so that my finger is on top of this hole, maybe I will be able to get this one to draw. Despite the fact that I have plenty of delicious, in-tact sticks in my humidor, I just can't make myself throw the damaged ones away.
Does anyone else have this hording problem?

I don't know if you have hoarding a problem.
Sounds like you have more of a cigar destruction problem

Unlike you, it would seem, I'm careful with my cigars, so no.
That, and if I notice a ragged one, it's the first one I smoke.

Hey Hey Hey! Don't go pointing fingers at me. I am gentle as a mamma alligator with my sticks. I get these when they show up damaged to our warehouse and instead of throwing them away I RESCUE them. I am a cigar saint I tell you!

I do the same thing, if I notice one that has some damage, I smoke it. Keeping the riffraff from cheapening the eye appeal of the others.

If you have that much of a damage surplus, sounds like it is time to start making some cigar leaf pipe tobacco

Man, you and Dave are all about this pipe stuff. He wants to start carrying pipes and pipe accoutrements and pipe tobacco. That is all I hear about in marketing meetings!

The only cigars I hoard or collect is my LP collection. For the most part I have one of everything that I plan on keeping as a set. Extras get happily smoked. I never set out with that goal it just sort of happened and when I realized it I didn't want to smoke anything that would incomplete my set. Nothing else gets hoarded or collected just acclimated and smoked.

Makes total sense to me! With all your beat to shiz cigars, you can make your own house blend already to boot!
Resistance is futile

But I know nothing about pipes! In fact, we got samples of pipes from a vendor last week and I couldn't tell if they were damaged or if they were supposed to look like someone chewed on the stem...
