For me, they take a lot of attention/work. Something I'm not always up to commit to (I'm usually looking for the opposite when I smoke). That's not to say there is anything wrong with them - if anything its on me for not being the most disciplined smoker.
I've had some damn good ones and its probably related to that fact that when I choose to smoke one, I'm in a dedicated frame of mind to pay attention to the stick, which probably makes me more aware of many of the nuances.
Very much like when I committed to going through the Rojas tasters set.

BLTC Bishops Blend
Daruma Gold (don't think they're in production anymore)
Regius Blue Label
Are the three lances that come to mind; not in any particular order. And I'm sure that I have a few others that are good.

Um, yes ... present and/or accounted for. Wrong forum to discuss my absolute favorite lanceros, but there are some NCs I like. The Blanco Nine is probably my favorite NC lancero. It was the first lancero I ever smoked, and I still grab a few now and again. I used to like the 262 Paradigm even better, but I think they may be out of business. I ran across a few RP Edge maduro lanceros years ago, and those were pretty good. Padron used to (maybe still does) make a lancero in the -000 series. After some rest (6 months or so) they were good. Illusione HL is really good, too. Buy one each of candela, natural, and maduro, then smoke the three to compare the flavor of each wrapper. Best way to see what the wrapper does to the blend.
Lanceros are the pinnacle of cigars for me.
Insert witty comment here ...
