Buying in US, then pass border to Canada
Question for the Canadians ...
We have a boat on Champlain Lake ( NY ) and we pass weekend there ... Do anyone know how much cigar I can take home ( In Canada ) if I buy those in a local B&M near Champlain lake ...
I know it 50 cigar / person for a 7 days stay outside Canada ( Cuba per example ), but a 2-3 days in the USA result of what ...? What about the taxes ?
Trying to know before spending +/- 1 hour to get info from Canada border people ...
Thanks,
DEv

Indeed so Most indeededly
I always thought it was 1-2 days and you could bring 50 but I don't have any firsthand knowledge on it. subscribing to see further responses...

you can bring the maximum (50 sticks) if you stay in the states more than 48 hours. if you get checked, make sure to have some receipt for proof that you were there more than 48 hours.

Its 50 sticks/person after 48 hours. There is a nice b&m on Church St. in Burlington. Garcia's Tobacco I think. The staff is nice and very helpful. You can dock at the marina or walk from the beach, its a 20 minute or so walk but you can walk slowly and smoke one on the way back!
