A couple weeks ago I opened a sealed box of L40 and to my horror I discovered that 11 out of the 15 sticks were severely damaged.
While this is certainly a tragedy, there is a silver lining. I have been in contact with DE Customer Service. and while it started off a little rocky, I have only one complaint about working with them. and it is not really a problem. When you go through their online service desk it seams that you only get one response a day from them, but i assume that is because they only have one guy working that department and he is probably real busy.
When i told him they were L40s he was quick to send out a shipping label for me to return the box. and then the next day He called as I was pulling up to UPS to drop them off, to tell me "As you may know, the L40 is an extremely limited release and we are having trouble finding a replacement" so he asked me to hold off on sending them in until they could figure out what they could do.
So in fairness and my desire to resolve the issue as fast a possible, I told him I would be willing to accept a "FAIR" substitution. Thinking that would hurry them along. and well DE is awesome and they don't want to give me something else because they feel they would be doing me wrong... So today after talking with Gary over there He is sending me some Nica Rustica for the trouble and they are working on getting me a replacement straight from the factory.
I will add that when i first made my offer of accepting a substitution they had the nerve to ask if I liked Acids...![]()
Secretly I think I was hoping that they might have just sent me a box of No.9 Belicoso or one of the crates of Nica Rustica, but they really are going out of their way to make this right with great communication and due diligence.
