Still disappointed on that; will try another but major letdown
I've had one marinating for a spell that I received in a sampler, but I'm in no rush to smoke it. I think I've had it for 5-6 months, but from what I've read, there may be not enough time to heal this smoke....

    1. NO cigar will appease EVERY person on the planet
    2. If I'm paying upwards of $30 for a SINGLE cigar there is a level of expectation that comes with that. Waiting 3-4 years to smoke it is absurd.
    3. I certainly wasn't wowed enough to spend ANOTHER $25-$30 on the same line

Conversely, I've had a PAM64 that was out of sight that I smoked a couple days after getting a 5-pack. It was half the price and 10X the cigar, IMO. And that's what this is really all about: Opinions.

Drew Estate Smoking Monk Porter. Guess I was expecting this to be great as I loved the idea of paring with Porter. It was bland, boring, and just blah. The first Drew Estate stick I was not thrilled with. Granted, I am new and I have only had about 5-7 DE's. It was not my cup of tea.

I've told this story elsewhere, but for me, it was both the LP #9 and a Padron 1926...both are legendary smokes. I smoked them within a few days of each other after much anticipation...and they were good sticks, but were they better than some costing a third the price? Absolutely not. I read about folks dissing the Gurkhas because of their over-inflated MSRP's...for me, these two ceegars fit into that same category!

Now, mind you, that's just me...looks like I'm not the only one!

Now the Nica Puro I like quiet a bit.
This!!! Only one I've liked is the Prensado

For me, it was the Oliva O robusto. Granted, it was early into my cigar experience; but I remember being so disappointed. Up until then, I had smoked a few Fuentes; and this one tasted completely different. I wasn't ready for that, and couldn't stand it. Maybe I'll try it again, one day; but I've got so many others in the humi, that I don't know when I'd get around to it!

I must confess I think this point is eminently reasonable (as are your others).

I think I've just got used to thinking this is a norm for full-bodied cigars. Padron and LP both make sure they put out stuff ready to smoke so it can be done.

That's how I feel about them too. I like them, but they just aren't anything special like they're made out to be by some. I will say that if that is as underwhelmed as I ever get by a cigar then I'll be extremely happy.
