    2015 New Releases

I have only been smoking cigars regularly for a little over 2 years, so I have no experience with cigar releases from years prior. But this year seems to be a fantastic year for cigars. I don't chase ALL of the new stuff and due to finances try to grab a few of 3-5 new releases.

Does anyone else feel 2015 has been a great year for cigar smokers? What has been your favorite new release so far this year? What upcoming new releases are you chomping at the bit to try?

For me the one so far that flutters my putter is Foundation El Gueguense. I have only smoked one ROTT and thought it needed some rest to really shine. I think these are going to be very special. I need to get more before they are gone.

Please share your thoughts and impressions of 2015 releases. Is my impression justified or an old mans opinion caught up in hoopla?

    Please discuss!

There have definitely been some standouts, to my palate at least: Hamlet's/RP's Tabaquero, Don Reynaldo, La Hacienda, Futuro, Cote d'Or, La Palina Red, the Monte 80th, Quesada Reserva Privada, Henry Clay Tattoo, El Gueguense, and obviously I feel that my store's Tatuaje exclusive was good (I had input on the blend - of course I'd think that). I have high hopes for Blind Man's Bluff, Sobremesa, and Illusione's 33. But compared to years past, I'm honestly underwhelmed.

Maybe my tastes are refining so I find less smokes that I need to have in my humidor, maybe I'm continuing to fall further down the Cuban well with no hopes of climbing out, maybe I've become so spoiled with aged cigars that I can't properly judge them when fresh, maybe it's a combination of the three... As long as you're finding cigars you're excited about, though, that's all that matters. All it takes is one absolutely amazing cigar to be released and all of a sudden it was the best year ever for cigars - that's what's so fun about each of us experiencing tobacco differently.

Maybe all that raw fish you like to eat is screwing up your sense of taste (and smell lol)

But I agree that El Gueguense was good ROTT and should improve with a little age, and that The Whore is an excellent cigar.
I'm also one who doesn't chase all the new releases so I can't comment much past that.
No cigar until you get a par - birdie if it's a scramble !

I'll edit in more if they come to mind but off the top of my head....

Las Calaveras 2015 - good but not great and a big downgrade from last years release IMO.

Angels Anvil TAA15 - these are really good, box worthy

Caldwell Last Tsar - nothing remarkable, horribly overpriced. I don't know whats worse and a bigger money grab, these or the "Lost&Found" releases.

El Gueguense - Ive smoked 2 so far and a little down time may play in their favor but as of now these are overhyped and overpriced IMO. Maybe I just had higher expectations I don't know. Not a bad smoke but I'm far from blown away for the money.

Tatuaje Mardi Gras Attacks - one of the best cigars Ive had in years

Tatuaje TAA15 - box worthy, hell who am I kidding these are multi box worthy

    Tatuaje Jackal - meh

Tatuaje Hyde - really dig these

    Warped La Hacienda - meh

    Warped Futuro - amazing

    Warped Skyflower - meh

DE Pope of Greenwich Village(Smokeinn exclusive) - one of the best cigars released this year by far.

Tatuaje Anarchy(Smokeinn exclusive) - not much to be enjoyed at the moment IMO.... but these will come alive and be stellar down the road like the OR.

Henry Clay Tattoo - too early to tell. Nothing special right now but these could be great in a few months. Just too early to tell.

Crowned Heads La Imperiosa - had to edit this one in and don't know how I forgot them initially. Amazing blend and very happy these are regular production now!

Mardi Gras attacks was a very limited release for Updowncigar IIRC. At this point it's been over 6 months they probably are long gone by now. The Henry Clays I'm pretty sure I got from Famous.
